TIMELINE

Hi! Oo buhay pa ako at ang blog na ito. \(^_^)/

"All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." - Walt Disney

April 2011 - I took the IELTS exam here in Tokyo. And while waiting for the result I told myself that I will start writing my CDR (Competency Demonstration Report) for Engineers Australia (EA). After writing the first paragraph for my first career episode nakatulog na sa kangkungan ang CDR ko.

August 2012 - I decided to continue writing my CDR. I was already pregnant with Miko. During this month may isang babaeng butete na muntik ng mawala sa loob ng Australian Embassy para magpanotaryo ng mga dokumento. I planned to finish my CDR before I return to the Philippines by the end of September.

September 2012 - I unexpectedly gave birth here in Japan. By this time nawala na sa isipan ko ang aking CDR.

December 2012 - Ate Joy asked when my IELTS will expire. April 4, 2013. I only have 3 months to finish my CDR or else I have to take again the IELTS exam. Since the fee was very expensive for me to waste it, it pushed me (very very very hard) to finish my CDR. I already finished my first career episode. Two more to go.

March 19, 2013 - The day I sent my CDR to EA via fedex. I was supposed to send it on March 23 (Saturday). So that will give me 2-3days to clean/polish my CDR before sending it. Ate Joy (who is currently residing in Au) mentioned about the upcoming holidays (holy week) and she made me realize that there was a possiblity that my CDR might not reach EA before April 4 if i'm going to send it on Sat. Walang tulugan itwu. While Miko was soundly sleeping, Basuraman and I were very busy proofreading, revising and printing. Naksiama naman ang mabait kong anak. I had to take a leave of absence from work maipadala lang ang aking CDR.

I did not expect that I can still make technical reports/essays since I hate doing them.

March 27, 2013 - I received a letter from EA via post that they received my CDR last March 22, 2013. Result will be released after 16 weeks. 16 freaking weeks. The pain of waiting starts...

Of course I have worries.

June 8, 2013 - I took again the IELTS exam here in Tokyo for the visa application. This time I reviewed big time for the Writing part. During my first take I got 6.5 in Writing. Not enough. I needed to get a minimum score of 7 in all the sections of the exam (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking) for me to acquire 10 points in our visa application. Kapag below 7 kasi ni singkong duling wala akong makukuhang points for english proficiency.

June 21, 2013 - My IELTS result: 8.5/8/7/7.5 - Thank you Papa Jesus!

July 16, 2013 - The moment of truth. A letter from EA arrived in our mailbox. I got a positive assessment for my CDR (Professional Electronics Engineer with 8 years of overseas work experience)! Status ko sa facebook: God is good all the time!

July 17, 2013 - I submitted my Expression of Interest (EOI) to apply for visa subclass 189 (skilled independent) via Skillselect (with Basuraman and Miko as secondary applicants).

Sakit sakit ng tyan. Tumbling-tumbling. Miya't-miyang pagcheck sa email sa Skillselect account kahit alam ko na first Monday of August pa mare-release ang next round ng invites. Bakit ko ginawa yun sa sarili ko? Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit.

August 5, 2013 - Got an invite! Yeaboi!

***Commercial break***
August 8, 2013 - 3rd year Wedding Anniversary namin ni Basuraman. Ayiiiiii!

August 25, 2013 - We officially submitted our visa application online. This is it pusit. Goodbye 5,355 AUD! (Do the conversion again!) 8 weeks ulit ang waiting time bago kami magkaroon ng Case Officer (CO).

For the first time sa tanang buhay ko nakuha kong mag-exercise ng almost everyday. Takbo/Jog/Brisk walk for 1hr every night. Oatmeal for dinner. Consistent akong obese class 1 / overweight for the past 8 years.

***Commercial break ulit ***
September 10, 2013 - 1st Birthday ni Miko! We went to Tokyo Disneyland to celebrate her birthday. Tuwang-tuwa ang batang machaba! Yey!
September 21, 2013 - 31st birthday ko! We went to Sanrio Puroland. Tuwang-tuwa ang matandang machaba! Yey!

Sunday ngayon so baka bukas meron na.

October 21, 2013 - Tengenes. Wala pa ring CO. Gusto ko nang lumuha ng dugo. Pati dulo ng buhok ko sumasakit na.

October 24, 2013 - Nagparamdam na si CO! Status ko sa facebook: All the time God is good! We were given 28 days to complete the required documents.

October 30, 2013 - Scheduled date of our medicals. Kinailangan naming sumakay sa cars designated for women only para "less siksikan". For 30 minutes I calmed myself. As in. Walang halong eklavoo.) Tulala. Walang iniisip. Kailangang bumaba ang blood pressure. Kaya ko 'to. Whoooosah. Whoooosah. Whooooooosaaaaah.......

They were looking for "Shi-ri-ru". Kaso we pronounced Basuraman's name as Sai-ri-ru(Cyril). Engotz. After 12 decades of meditation and realization dinala niya na kami sa kuhanan ng police clearance. We were escorted again paglabas ng building.

I emailed our CO that we already sent our PCC (Tokyo). We already completed all of the requirements. Another painful waiting. This time walang timeframe kung kelan ire-release ang result. The time frame varies. May nabasa ako sa forum na after 1-2 days na makumpleto nila yung requirements nabigyan na kagad sila ng result. Yung iba inaabot ng weeks and even months.

I tried not to think of our application while waiting for the result.

November 20, 2013 (Wednesday) - Checked my email before going to office. Nothing from my CO. Checked again my email pagdating sa office.

After an hour or two naisipan ko na i-check ulit ang email ko. There was an email from our CO. Pootengeness. Kusang binuhol ng bituka ko ang sarili niya using 16 types of knots habang nagsa-sommersault ang 10 libong butterflies sa tyan ko. Breathe in, breathe out. Or baka may mali sa documents namin.

Status ko sa facebook: "God is good all the time! All the time God is good!"

My father and I are both OFWs. My father has sacrificed a lot while being an OFW especially with his time with us his family. My family has been my greatest motivation to pursue this dream. This is only the start but as long as I have my family I know we can make it through.

And then they got a visa grant. Sinabi niya sakin na bakit hindi ko subukan tutal I have the resources. From conceptualization hanggang proof reading tinulungan niya ko. She also guided me during our visa application kapag meron akong sangkatutak na questions. Thank you berimats Mommy Joy!

2013 has been a great year for us. Andami kong nababasa sa facebook noon claiming that 2013 is going to be their year. At dahil gaya-gaya ako I also claimed that it is going to be my year (na sinamahan ko ng mataimtim na pagdarasal). And it really was.

See you Australia in April!
